As a mom of three littles, I am always excited to find a new place where my kids can play, learn, and let’s be honest close to home [Vienna, Virginia]. I recently attended the soft opening of Play Street Museum Fairfax, and I could not wait to share this beautiful new play venue with other local families.

The museum is owned and operated by a wonderful local mother and daughter team who also run Play Street Museum Ashburn. You can feel their care and attention throughout the entire space. It is clean, posh, thoughtfully designed and filled with charming details that make the experience feel special for both children and parents.

Designed primarily for toddlers and children through age 8, the Fairfax museum brings “The Farm” to life with a barn, farmhouse, feed and seed store and ice cream parlor. Children can use their imaginations, build confidence and develop social skills through hands-on play.

There is also a giant Lite Brite, rotating activities on the Discovery Rug, an art exploration station and sensory activities, including a customizable slime lab. At the end of each play session, every child receives a token to exchange for a snack, which was such a fun and thoughtful detail.

Play Street Museum feels more intentional than a traditional indoor playground. Its smaller setting and reserved play sessions create a calmer, more manageable experience while still giving children plenty to explore.

Families can visit for play sessions, special events and field trips. The museum can also be reserved for birthday parties and private celebrations, making it a beautiful new option for anyone searching for a kids’ birthday party venue in Fairfax.

What I loved most was meeting the mother and daughter who brought this experience to our community. They have created more than a place for kids to play. Play Street Museum Fairfax is a warm, beautifully curated space where local families can connect and children can learn through play.
